Findom: what financial domination means, and how it works on a creator page.

Findom is short for financial domination: an arrangement in which one adult gives money or gifts to another because giving it, and being told to, is the point. This guide explains the words that come with it, from tribute to pay pig, how the arrangement works in practice, how creators run it on a subscription page without breaking the platform's rules, and the risks that both sides should understand before the first payment.

Short answer

Findom is a form of dominance and submission in which the submissive, often called a pay pig or finsub, sends money to the dominant. It happens almost entirely online, and the payment itself is the act.

For a creator it is a persona niche sold through tips and paid messages. It works only with consenting adults, stated limits, and payments kept on the platform.

  • The giverFinsub, pay pig, cash pig, human ATM
  • The receiverFindom or findomme, money mistress or master
  • The paymentCalled a tribute; sent as a tip or a paid message
  • Where it happensAlmost always online, usually without meeting

People look up findom for three reasons: they saw the word and want the meaning, they are drawn to one side of it, or they are creators wondering whether it is a niche they could work in. This guide covers all three in plain language, with no imagery and nothing explicit.

What findom means.

Wikipedia defines financial domination as a fetish lifestyle in which a financial submissive gives gifts or money to a financial dominant. It is a branch of dominance and submission. What makes it different from every neighboring arrangement is that the money is not payment for something else. In a sugar relationship, money is exchanged for company. In findom, as the same article puts it, the submissive has no expectation of sexual contact in return, and in most cases the two people never meet. The handing over of money, on command, is the experience the submissive is looking for.

Participants can be of any gender. The article notes that the dominant is typically a woman and the submissive almost always a man, and that the practice took its current form with the internet, where it can be carried out at a distance and anonymously.

The simplest way to understand it is as a power exchange in which money takes the place that sex has in other dynamics. The fetish is giving up control, and money is the most concrete form of control most people have in daily life. When a finsub sends money to a dom, the sexual charge is in the act of sending and in being told to, not in anything received. That is why men who take part describe it as a relationship even when the two people have never met, and why a dom who treats it as easy money, with no interest in the power exchange, is usually found out.

The vocabulary.

WordWhat it means
Findom, findommeThe financial dominant, the person who receives. Also money mistress, money master, cashmaster, Goddess.
FinsubThe financial submissive, the person who gives.
Pay pig, paypig, cash pigNames for a finsub, used inside the scene, usually by the submissive's own choice.
Human ATM, money slaveOther names for the same role, stressing the one way flow of money.
TributeA payment sent to the dominant, often an opening payment required before any conversation.
DrainA session in which the submissive sends repeated payments as instructed, up to a limit agreed beforehand.
FakeThe scene's word for an account that is not what it claims: a scammer, or someone with no interest in the dynamic.

Findom is not the same as paying a dominatrix for a session, and it is not sex work in the usual sense, because no sex and often no sexual content is exchanged. It is also not a sugar relationship, where a partner gives money for company. The fetish is narrower than any of those: the finsub wants to send money, and the sexual or emotional reward is the sending. Most of it happens on social platforms and creator pages, online, between people who will never be in the same room.

What a pay pig is.

A pay pig is a financial submissive: an adult who enjoys giving money to a dominant and being told to. The name is deliberately unflattering because mild humiliation is part of what many finsubs ask for. Two things are worth knowing. The first is that pay pigs are not the wealthy men of the stereotype; Wikipedia's article records that people outside the community assume they are rich, while most are lower middle class. The second follows from it: a pay pig's limit is real, and a dominant who ignores it is doing harm, not a scene.

Searches for a pay pigs website come from creators hoping there is a place that supplies paying submissives. There is not. Finsubs find dominants on X, on Reddit communities for the kink, and on creator platforms, and they choose whom to pay. Anyone selling a list of pay pigs is selling a list.

How it works in practice.

  1. 1

    First contact and a tribute

The submissive approaches, and many dominants require an opening tribute before replying. It filters out time wasters and sets the terms of the dynamic.

  2. 2

    Limits are agreed

A responsible dominant asks what the submissive can afford to lose in a week or a month, and treats that figure as a ceiling. This is the consent conversation of findom and it happens in plain words.

  3. 3

    Tasks, sessions and games

The dominant sets tasks: a payment at a set time, a payment for permission to speak, a drain session. Findom games add chance, for example a dice roll or a wheel that decides the size of the next tribute inside the agreed limit.

  4. 4

    The persona is sustained

What the submissive is paying for is the dominant's attention and authority. It is persona work done in messages, day after day, and it is where the labor is.

Findom on a creator page.

On OnlyFans a tribute is a tip or the price of a paid message, and the platform takes its 20 percent like any other sale. That is a cost worth paying, for three reasons the terms make clear. The platform is the merchant, so the submissive's card is never seen by the creator and the creator's identity is never seen by the payer. The fan is a registered adult. And the payment has a record, which matters when a payer disputes it: a tribute sent through a payment app can be reversed with nothing to show what it was for. The chargeback guide explains how disputes work on the platform.

The page itself is often free to subscribe, with a tip menu of tributes and tasks, because the inbox is the product. The tip menu guide and the messages guide cover the mechanics. The terms also hold the creator responsible for the account, and the platform's help center says creators cannot use AI chatbots to write chats or messages, so the persona has to be a person.

Findom, sugar dating and pro dommes.

The term is often confused with arrangements that also involve money, and the difference matters to anyone deciding whether it is for them. Wikipedia's article separates financial domination from two neighbours in particular: sugar relationships, where a benefactor gives money or gifts in return for a relationship, and total power exchange, where the submissive gives up control over far more than money and the two people often have an intimate relationship. In findom the sub expects no sexual contact and no relationship in return; the payment is the whole experience, and it usually happens over the internet between people who never meet.

ArrangementWhat the money buysContactWhere the power sits
FindomNothing but the act of giving, on commandUsually online only; the two rarely meetWith the findomme, by agreement
Sugar datingCompany and a relationshipIn person, as datesNot a domination dynamic
Total power exchangeControl over money and much elseOften an ongoing relationshipWith the dominant, across daily life
Professional domme sessionsA scene of a set lengthIn person or by videoWith the dominatrix, for the session

The vocabulary overlaps because the scene is small. A findomme may call herself a domme, a dominatrix or a goddess; a sub may be called a finsub, a pay pig or a money slave. What a person really wants from findom, rather than from any of the others, is the moment of giving and being told to. That is also why it took its current form with the internet: social media and creator platforms let a domme be found by people who would never walk into a club.

How to be a findom.

  • Decide whether the dynamic suits you. The scene calls dominants with no interest in dominance fakes, and submissives can tell. It is a persona sustained for hours a week, not a request for money.
  • Build the persona and its rules. A name, a voice, what you require before replying, what you never do. Write it down; the niches guide covers owning a persona.
  • Build the channel. Finsubs are found on X and niche Reddit communities. The promotion guide covers both, with tracking links.
  • Write the menu. Opening tribute, task prices, session prices. Every price visible before the fan pays.
  • Ask for the limit and keep to it. The ceiling the submissive states is the boundary of consent.
  • Keep everything on the platform. No payment apps, no gift cards, no bank details in either direction.
  • Report the income. Tributes are earnings, and the terms require creators to report them for tax.

The risks on both sides.

Wikipedia's article is blunt about the submissive's side: for many, paying becomes compulsive, and in the worst case it leads to financial ruin. It also notes that psychological dependence is wanted by both parties, which is exactly why the dominant carries responsibility for the limit. A finsub who is hiding payments from a partner, borrowing to pay, or unable to stop should treat that as a gambling problem is treated, and talk to a debt or addiction service.

The dominant's risks are fraud and exposure. The same article records proven cases of fraud in the scene and accounts whose operator is unknown. Impostors copy dominants' photos, payers reverse payments made off platform, and any arrangement that involves threats to expose someone is blackmail in law whatever the two people call it. Consent in findom covers the payment and the words. It does not cover real threats, real secrets, or money the person cannot afford.
